      • His Last Trick
      Sh. Ebrahimi
His face turns black, his back is downed, his stream of life is blocked, and he gets far and farther away; just as east is away from west.
''God's days'' had caused problems for him; these days are not his; he is tied up but not surrounded. He keeps trying to find a way to intrude; he is definitely hard working! He has designed thousand plans; he has employed thousand methods and he tries thousand tricks.
One of his methods in this month is ''rage'', that results from long hours of being thirsty and hungry; and it really has worked for those whose fast is not deep and real.
''Anger is a spark ignited by the Devil in the human heart. Indeed, when anyone of you gets angry, his eyes become red, the veins of his neck become swollen and Satan enters them.'' (1)
Following the basic rules of being fast, i.e. avoiding eating and drinking, might trigger the nervous system and increase the irritability and in case of not controlled can ended in using foul language, revenge taking, jealousy, bad behavior and violence.
''And few are those really fating and there are too many just keeping themselves hungry.'' (2)
Those who are really fast in Ramadan, not only refrain from eating and drinking, but also avoid nonsense talking, backbiting or envy. They are aware that fast, is a practice of patience and tolerance of hard time.

If a fast Muslim, who has been insulted by others, says: ''peace be upon you, I won't use foul language because I'm fasting'' God would respond: ''My servant has been seeking refuge in fast and refrain from foul language; I would protect him from the fire of Hell.'' (3)
In Islamic tradition, many techniques have been suggested to control the anger; most of them if done in Ramadan, are promised to be rewarded in here after.
      1.    repetition of some dhikr such as:
      «استغفراللَّه ربى و اتوب اليه»، «اعوذ باللَّه من الشيطان الرجيم»، «لا حول و لا قوة الا باللَّه»
Also read Surah Walasr and seek God's assistance in controlling anger and overcoming the selfishness.
''Remember me while you are angry, then when I'm angry at you, I will remember you and won't punish you hard'' (4)
      2.    When you lost your temper, sit if you are standing and lie down if you are sitting.
This change in position reminds you that we are created from soil and will definitely get back there; we are weak and limited. This remembering would help us reduce our proud and arrogance.
      3.   Take Wudu or Gusl using cold water
      4.    Keep silent and say Salwat
''Treat your anger by silence'' (5)
      5.    Dedicate more time to God and praying.
